The Brazilian Yuri Mansur won on Wednesday evening under floodlight at the CHIO in Aachen. At the CSIO in St. Gallen at the beginning of June he had finished second with the Brazilian team behind the Swiss team. Now he won ahead of the two Swiss riders Edouard Schmitz and Martin Fuchs in the Prize of Europe. The Brazilian jumped clear in the normal course and also remained clear in the jump-off on Miss Blue-Saint with the fastest time.
The jump-off was opened by Edouard Schmitz. The Geneva rider set a fabulous time of 42.43 seconds, beaten only by Yuri Mansur. Martin Fuchs came third with a time of 42.78 seconds. The CHIO Aachen has been taking place since 1924.
