Edouard Schmitz among the world's top 30 for the first time

The 23-year-old Edouard Schmitz is one of the most promising young show jumpers in Switzerland. The Geneva native, who is studying computer science at the University of Zurich alongside his career as a rider, is ranked 29th in the Longines World Ranking as of the end of September, together with his role model, Olympic champion Steve Guerdat, as the second best Swiss rider in the ranking. This is the first time Edouard is ranked in the top 30.

At the end of August, Edouard Schmitz triumphed with his Belgian gelding Gamin van't Naastveldhof in the Grand Prix of the five-star CSIO in Dublin. After a great third place of the Swiss team in the Nations Cup, the young rider from Geneva recorded his first victory in a five-star Grand Prix in Ireland. For Edouard Schmitz, this was the biggest success in his young career. The talent of the young Geneva show jumper is undisputed.
